When Your Phone Gets a Swimming Lesson
What if you accidentally drop your phone in the water? Or worse, if you left it in your pants pocket which you decided to clean in the washing machine? Any one in this situation is considered unlucky. But don’t just lose hope that easily, you may be able to save your precious phone by reacting as quickly as possible.
First, immediately remove the battery before it causes too much damage. Now you may start drying the phone by using a paper towel or any absorbent material. If it seems that your phone is already dry, it isn’t. Resist the temptation to return the battery and turn on the phone praying that it will still work. Sad to say, you would have to wait for a few days or a week. We are going to use a slow natural process which is called evaporation so patience is really a virtue here. Moreover, using a hairdryer to speed up the process is a no-no; excess heat could bring as much damage to your phone as water does.
