Buying a Smartphone: Tip #1

Purchasing a new Smartphone can be a daunting task particularly to people who don’t know much about the cellular industry. If you don’t spend time researching before you purchase a device, various advertisement methods from TV, internet, and shopping malls could make you bait for a hungry salesperson. Otherwise, you could end up saving precious money, time, and a lot of hassle.

My first advice for a painless buying experience is choosing first a carrier with the best coverage in the areas that you need. Verizon and Sprint offer excellent and wide coverage all over USA, but if you’re a constant world traveler you may want to consider AT&T or T-Mobile. This process will give you a more enjoyable experience with the device and the service as well. Moreover, asking your friends, family, and co-workers, going online and reading customer reviews and complaints can also trim down your choices. If still in doubt, most carriers recommend a buyer’s remorse period from 10-30 days wherein you can try the device and return it without giving an Early Termination Fee (ETF).
