Sony Ericsson P1i : For The Dexterous Fingers

Sony Ericsson has released a new model for their P series smartphones. Although there have been plenty of complaints from the former UIQ 3.0 Symbian OS of their former P series and M600i smartphones, they have now cleaned that up on the P1i series. The form and design has also been upgraded as well. It would seem that this is yet the best of the P series smartphones of Sony Ericsson.

The biggest challenge on the P1i is the keyboard. Aside from its small keys, a fit for the most dexterous of fingers, the full QWERTY keyboard has been crammed into 20 keys including the numbers and symbols. It would really take some time before mastering this rather complicated keyboard. The pros on this would be that it saves a lot of space and it’s fixed on the phone rather than the pullout plastic ones of the previous P series phones.

The P1i smartphones is jam-packed with features. It has 3G capabilities, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 2.0 (with the A2DP profile for wireless music streaming), and Wi-Fi 802.11b. The only one missing in this list is HSDPA, which saddens those tech geeks who wanted this to be integrated on the P1i. But nonetheless, it is still the one with the most features on a single phone.

The P series have always been bulky and this one doesn’t stray from that. The good side is that the phone has been themed with the classy black and silver colors. Gone are the days of the plastic feel of the P series. It has now been replaced by sleek metal covers. Those who have been staying away from the P’s from its lack of design are sure to love the new look.

Overall, the P1i is an awesome phone. It has lots of features and it has a sleek design too. What more could you ask for in a smartphone?
